The Loading Lamp

The Loading Lamp is a wall-mounted lamp inspired by one of the most universally frustrating symbols in modern life: the spinning beach ball of death.

The frame is CNC-milled from solid aluminum, bead-blasted and anodized in a matte black finish. A real glass mirror sits flush inside, surrounded by a custom LED circuit that produces a continuous, smooth loading animation—a clean halo of perpetual motion.

Every detail was intentionally over-engineered: a recessed LED channel, a protective lip to safeguard the glass edge, a centered hanging system for balanced mounting, and a custom PCB with 75 addressable LEDs for a seamless glow.

Powered via USB-C, the Loading Lamp is designed to stay on—not die halfway through the moment like the thing that inspired it.
