Measure One, Cut Twice
Matty develops things to live in the real world as quickly as possible. The story about how & why an object came to life is more important than every millimeter being perfect.

MATTY is the physical-products arm of Matty Benedetto's Unnecessary Studio, where he built over 400+ elaborate solutions to problems that don't exist. Except the ones you find here, you can actually buy. Each release is designed to be thoughtful, playful, and built to live in your space. Small runs. Rarely restocked.
Matty Benedetto runs his 6,400-square-foot design studio in Burlington, Vermont, where he makes things nobody asked for. For seven years, those things have lived in videos, the Burrito Bumper, the Crocs Gloves, and Lonely Lounger, to name a few. Each product served as a deadpan faux product launch for objects that don't actually exist.
Some ideas didn't quite fit the Unnecessary Inventions mantra and needed a permeant home.
So there's now this: a parallel brand for the rare objects that earn a real production run. The Self Aware Lamp. The Monobloc Charger. The Unown AirTag Holders. Things designed with the same over-engineered care, but built to actually ship.
If it's here, MATTY thought it was worth making.
Matty develops things to live in the real world as quickly as possible. The story about how & why an object came to life is more important than every millimeter being perfect.
Every object needs a point of view. It needs to have something to day, come from a clear reference point, or be commentary on something happening in the world.
Objects can't exist simply to be a punchline for a joke. They must live within your life to serve a purpose while simultaneously bringing joy into your life.
